New to yoga

Common questions from new students:

We have mats, blocks, straps, and water. You don’t need to bring anything except your beautiful open heart and mind. If you think you’ll sweat you can bring a towel.

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move. Comfy pants, leggings, t-shirts, and tank tops are all suitable. Yoga is practiced barefoot.

As often as you like. Every day is great if you have the time. Like all complex and transformation pursuits, Yoga’s full benefits come only with regular practice. We believe that practice makes prana. “Prana” is “ life” the more you practice the more you will touch the essence of life. But don’t believe me because I say so. Believe it because you have felt it for yourself!

The yoga sutras give the following advise in regard to practice;

“Sah tu dirgha-kāla-nairantarya-satkārāsevito drdha-bhūmih”

Becoming firmly established in Yoga and its benefits comes only when Yoga is practiced repeatedly, sincerely, and for a long time.

It is recommended to practice on an empty stomach, or at least 2 1/2 hours after eating. If you need to eat, eat lightly.

It’s ok if you’re a few minutes late. We understand the unpredictable nature of traffic in Kathmandu! We would rather you get some practice then none.
